Steps before moving things

Residential Survey for Quotation

To prepare a quotation for residential relocation, the team at Seabra Movers will schedule an appointment to survey the volume of goods to be relocated at your residence. We call this step the ‘pre-moving survey,’ which involves evaluating household goods, personal effects, and furniture that customers wish to move to estimate costs and provide a quotation for our relocation services.

During the survey appointment, we are pleased to provide information regarding the residential relocation process, including:

  • Materials used for packing household goods, such as box sizes and the number of boxes needed.
  • Handling of fragile or valuable items.
  • Required documents for international relocations
  • Rules, regulations, and legal requirements of the customs authorities in the destination country.
  • Door-to-door transit time from your origin to destination residences.
  • Insurance for the relocation.

Packing

Seabra Movers uses high-quality, international standard packing materials. Your furniture will be packed to a high standard, starting with wrapping in paper, followed by a layer of bubble wrap, and then covered with corrugated cardboard cut to the shape of the household goods. Household items like kitchenware, dishes and bowls will be packed in boxes. Larger furniture such as shelves, pictures, and paintings will be wrapped in paper and then placed in custom wooden crates or foam packaging. For clothing, customers can choose to either fold and pack them in cardboard boxes or hang them in cardboard wardrobes. Each box will include silica gel packs to ensure moisture control.

Shipping Options

Inbound Shipments

Seabra Movers provides customs clearance services for customers shipping goods to Thailand, whether to Bangkok Port or Lat Krabang ICD. This service is ideal for diplomats, business professionals relocating to Thailand, returning Thai citizens, or retirees wishing to reside in Thailand. We offer consultation on the types of goods eligible for duty-free entry, shipment status, import documents and more, ensuring a successful and convenient delivery to your home in Thailand.

By Air

Goods are shipped by air and loaded onto pallets. Our team will wrap the palletized boxes with plastic and secure them tightly with plastic straps.

By Sea

There are two sea shipping options: Less than Container Load (LCL) and Full Container Load (FCL).

  • Less than Container Load (LCL) involves sharing container space with other customers’ goods. We provide wooden crates, known as lift vans, to store your goods within the container.
  • Full Container Load (FCL) involves a single customer’s goods filling a 20-foot or 40-foot container.

Diplomatic Shipments

Diplomatic shipment involves shipping goods where the shipper holds diplomatic privileges, whether related to an embassy or United Nations (UN) organizations. This process typically takes approximately 10-14 days from the arrival of the shipment at the destination to obtain duty-free entry approval documents.

Destination Handling

Once your shipment reaches its destination, our local partners at the destination country will handle customs clearance (in some countries, the owner may need to present themselves to customs officials). They will then deliver the goods to your residence and provide unpacking or furniture installation services.
